Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-26
MNEURIX ("we", "us") operates mneurix.dev. This is a portfolio and content hub for an independent project. You don't need an account to use it, and we keep data collection to a minimum.
Data we collect
- Server logs. Our host (DigitalOcean) and edge (Cloudflare) log standard request data — IP address, user agent, timestamp, referrer — for security and abuse prevention. Kept briefly and not linked to your identity.
- Advertising. Google AdSense may set cookies and collect data to serve and measure ads, loaded only after you accept via our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit plus a timestamp and which page you signed up from. We use it solely to notify you when there's news — nothing else.
- Personality scoring. If you submit a personality test, your answers are sent once to our scoring endpoint to compute your results, then discarded — never stored or profiled (standard request metadata in server logs aside). The sensory and regulation tools never send anything.
Lawful basis
We process your waitlist email on the basis of your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); POPIA, consent). You can withdraw it and request deletion at any time. Server logs are processed for our legitimate interests in security and abuse prevention. Advertising is processed only with your consent (via the cookie banner).
How we store the waitlist
- Location. Waitlist entries are stored on DigitalOcean infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany (the EU). For our South Africa-based operation this is a cross-border transfer; the EU provides an adequate level of personal-data protection under POPIA.
- Security. Data is transmitted over TLS. The waitlist is stored in a file on a DigitalOcean Block Storage volume that is encrypted at rest at the disk level. The file itself is not separately encrypted. Access is limited to the application and the founder.
- Retention. We keep waitlist entries until you request deletion, or until the waitlist is wound down. We don't retain a backup copy beyond the volume itself.
- No sharing or sale. We don't sell your email, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it for profiling. Google AdSense (if you consent to ads) is an independent processor for ad measurement, not the waitlist.
How we use data
To operate and secure the site, notify waitlist signups of news, and — only where you have consented via the cookie banner — display advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
Advertising & Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements on certain content pages of mneurix.dev.
- Third-Party Vendors & Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
- Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Opt-Out Options: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting www.aboutads.info. You may also decline advertising cookies via our cookie consent banner or by enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser.
Third parties
- Google AdSense — serves and measures ads.
- DigitalOcean — hosts the application and stores waitlist entries on our infrastructure in Frankfurt.
- Cloudflare — provides the CDN/edge and may log request data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. under the GDPR or South Africa's POPIA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. To erase your waitlist entry, get in touch (or use the waitlist form with a note) and we'll remove it within a reasonable time.
Information Officer & complaints (POPIA)
The founder acts as Information Officer for MNEURIX. You can reach us via the waitlist form or get in touch. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
US state privacy laws (CCPA / CPRA and similar)
We are a small, independent studio and do not meet the thresholds that would make us subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the consumer-privacy laws of other US states (e.g. those require annual revenue above ~$25M, or processing the data of 100,000+ consumers). We are therefore not legally subject to those laws at our current scale. Even so, using Google AdSense counts as "sharing" personal information for cross-context advertising — and our cookie banner's Decline functions as your opt-out of that sharing (it prevents the ad script from loading). We also honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal, treating it as Declined.
Data breaches
In the unlikely event of a personal-data breach, we'll notify affected individuals and, where required, the relevant authority, as soon as reasonably possible.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. AdSense is not configured for child-directed content.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
